Yellowtail Pale Ale from Ballast Point Brewing Company

Yellowtale is a delicious pale ale made by the Ballast Point Brewing Company in San Diego, California.  For over 12 years, Ballast Point has brewed some of the most excellent beer in the San Diego area. They distribute five beers nationally, but they also have many seasonals which are only available at the brewery.

ABV: 4.6%
  • Smell:Kinda smells like biscuits, with some rich hops accenting the aroma
  • Head Retention:Good
  • Color: A lighter amber hue that shimmers like gold under the right lighting.
  • Taste: This beer is nicely carbonated and very refreshing. Smooth and slightly malty with a hint of bitterness as it finishes. It is rich in flavor and somewhat hoppy, but not overpowering to the senses.
  • Overall:This is one of my favorite beers brewed in San Diego. It's very drinkable and can be had repeatedly without upsetting your stomach. I'd rate it an 8/10.
